ProfiDrum Eco 45/40 Drum Filters are state of the art fully automatic rotary drum filters, the ProfiDrum Eco 45/40 Drum Filters are an innovative modern day solution for taking care of the mechanical waste that can be found in koi ponds today.

The ProfiDrum Eco 45/40 has been designed for the professional hobbyist who wants the very best in koi pond filtration. The critical components of the ProfiDrum Eco 45/40 are just like the ProfiDrum Stainless made from stainless steel 316. The housing of the ProfiDrum Eco 45/40 is created with economical polypropylene.

The ProfiDrum Eco 45/40 uses the latest innovative woven stainless steel mesh of 70 microns. The ProfiDrum Eco 45/40 series comes complete with an electronic control unit and high pressure water pump for cleaning.

ProfiDrum Eco 45/40 how it works:

The ProfiDrum Eco 45/40 comes with a prefixed number of inlets and outlets, tailored for the capacity of the model. Other configurations on customer request are possible.

We have installed nine Profidrum Eco Drum Filters systems on our own ponds of 50 ton and 15 ton ponds. These systems have been running now without a single problem for many years.

There are 5 Profidrum Eco Drum filters available, covering most pond sizes and flow rates required.

How it works

The water enters the profidrum through the inlets on the dirty side of the drum, the water contains mechanical waste that flows through in to the centre of the drum where the 70 micron screen catches the mechanical waste until the water level on the clean side of the drum drops past two probes that trigger the drum to rotate and at the same time trigger the high pressure pump to jet the dirt trapped on the screen down a stainless steel waste chute to waste. The water level on the clean side of the drum returns back to its normal clean level.

The innovative control panel gives you access to a fully adjustable duration of the rinse anything from from 12 seconds to several minutes depending on the amount of food and time of year.

Full control is also available for the duration of the gearbox to rotate the drum. During the flushing process, the high pressure pump is powered up so that the drum can be cleaned using the integrated nozzles on the spray bar.

The dirt is caught in elongated slots composite screen panels a little like how a water wheel works inside the drum this lifts the dirt out the water up and over the chute and ejected to waste through the waste chute. This cleaning process uses about 1.5 ltrs of water. As soon as the probes detect that the water level is reached this stops the rinsing process meaning the screen is once again clean and whole process starts again.
